Bagay La Nou Pòté

(The Things We Carry)

A rising cricket prodigy forgoes his dreams and sets out to bring peace in his home from the clutches of his toxic father.

As our protagonist Jay’s cricket career begins to flourish, he struggles to keep food on the table and a roof over his family’s heads. Moving between two seemingly different worlds, his cricket career contrasts with his broken home and the tensions taking place in his village. After a local championship win for Jay’s cricket team, he grapples with continuing to pursue this ambitious goal or fending for his loved ones.

Across the short film, we will watch Jay navigate supporting his family and outrunning the law, all the while desperately following his cricket aspirations. Bagay-La Nou Pòté serves as a proof of concept for a coming-of-age sports series.  sets out to do his popular weekly show when an unusual letter throws him out of groove
