The Cinematic Shorts Competition will have six incredibly talented filmmakers, paired in teams of two to produce a short film in collaboration with the NAACP Hollywood Bureau and NAACP+ Studios.

Kyvon Edwin‘s latest project, BAGAY-LA NOU PÒTÉ, is much more than just a film. This sports drama follows the journey of a young cricket prodigy who aspires to join the West Indies national team. Through this story, he aims to capture the essence of life in Saint Lucia, exploring the struggles, hopes and resilience of the island’s youth.

As the only characters in the film, Edwin and Frumkin (also joint-writers) are quietly charismatic and wonderfully natural performers. We have no trouble accepting the progress of their relationship and there is a graceful believability to how we see their lives together unfold on screen
